Spring racing in Australia is under way with that nation's top races being contested over the next few weeks. Upcoming major stakes include the Caulfield Cup (2400m), the Cox Plate (2000m) and the Melbourne Cup (3200m). Each race will be shown live on HRTV and can be bet in the U.S. through most wagering accounts (see australianracing.com for more information). Grade I winner Honor in War will run in the Cox Plate (Oct 27), the nation's top weight for age race, and will be a huge price. He is 110-1 on Betfair and 100-1 on the TAB. He is a few years past his prime, with his best performances coming in the Woodford Forest Reserve Turf Classic (G1) and the Arlington Handicap (G3) in 2003. His ownership has changed hands and he will be prepared by top Aussie trainer Danny O'Brien. Honor in War (Lord At War - Catumbella by Diesis) will remain in Australia for stud duty.
